Leaseholders at the UK’s largest Right to Manage Development have no control over their Service Charges

Urang and the RTM directors are completely unaccountable at Chelsea Bridge Wharf and leaseholders are totally alienated and disempowered. Urang are no longer even complying with their own complaints process, wholly ignoring formal complaints on very serious issues, refusing to explain a £425,000 budget overspend, claiming that service charges are down when in fact they are up above inflation (this magic is achieved by excluding reserve fund contributions fron the calculation!

The CBWRA Annual General Meeting April 2023.

*CBWRA plans to spend huge sums on new fountains *no meaningful response on massive service charge increases * CCTV installed in block foyers with no consultation *no action on management audit

In summary, dear CBWRA, thank you for the work that (some) of the committee are doing, but could I respectfully suggest that you please stop trying to blow smoke up the residents’ rear ends and start behaving like a normal democratic residents’ association, then we might actually get somewhere as a community of engaged residents. Even the CBWRA home page is not being straight with us – ‘a board of elected residents’?. No one on the committee is elected apart from the co-Chairs and there are many aspects of that which are questionable to say the least.

Residents to be charged three-quarters of a million pounds + for new car park doors and entryphone

The service charges are already grossly inflated and there is no case whatsoever for these doors. Have there been numerous break-ins to the car park on P2? Have there been intruders to the building? Official statistics show that since CBW was built there has been one break into the car park and one attempted break in. The Community Safety Officer has advised that the existing doors are fit for purpose.
