On 24th August 2016, temperatures in London reached 33 C (91 F). At Chelsea Bridge Wharf, residents were forced to keep their windows closed as Berkeley Homes continued to use heavy diesel engined… Continue reading
The service charges are already grossly inflated and there is no case whatsoever for these doors. Have there been numerous break-ins to the car park on P2? Have there been intruders to the building? Official statistics show that since CBW was built there has been one break into the car park and one attempted break in. The Community Safety Officer has advised that the existing doors are fit for purpose.
Following the decision of Berkeley Homes and Battersea Power Station Development Company to resurface Sopwith Way, remove the speed humps and open it up to all traffic there has been a massive increase in traffic along this narrow service road which runs within metres of many apartments at Chelsea Bridge Wharf. The traffic has come from HGVs waiting to access the Vista development site at the junction of Sopwith Way and Queenstown Road and from general traffic from the extremely busy Queenstown Road which are looking for a cut through to the Battersea Power Station site or for somewhere convenient to turn around to avoid going into the congestion charge zone.
The author of this blog has just received service charge notification for 2014/15. The increase works out to 6.33%. ! The current rate of inflation is 2%. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10612209 It seems that Rendall and Rittner… Continue reading
Warwick Building residents recently voted to appoint Rendall & Rittner to manage servicing of the block; only one person (from 39 votes received voted to stay with Consort/Peverel. The people have spoken! Goodbye Consort/Peverel – you will not be missed.

Chelsea Bridge Wharf, beside the old Battersea Power Station site, is in the process of going for RTM, has won at LVT but Peverel is taking the issue to the Land Tribunal on appeal. It is the usual familiar story. The Tchenguiz’s Fairhold Artemis hoovered up the freehold and bought Peverel, the managing agent, and the fees started escalating.
The head lesee of Warwick Building at CBW, London & Quadrant Housing Association, has apparently indicated that they are happy to appoint an alternative managing company chosen by residents (i.e. get rid of Peverel without RTM). A majority of residents from Warwick have signed a document initiating the Right to Manage process and there was a meeting (15th March 2012) with L&Q and residents of Warwick with representation from Peverel / Berkeley to discuss service charge hikes. Residents expect a response from L & Q soon clarifying their position re Right to Manage / change of management company without RTM
Update: 22nd April and still no notes from L&Q re the meeting with Berkeley Homes, re service charge increases, which took place on 15th March, more than 5 WEEKS AGO! Nice work L&Q; with you… Continue reading
