CBWRA’s meaningless RTM update and Xmas message
Great communication skills from CBWRA ‘co-chairs’ as ever. Two lines of meaningless non update was sent round to RTM company members on 23rd December (i.e. those who have signed up for Right to Manage). The update says:
”A quick message to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2025. We hope to have some positive news re RTM in the first quarter of the year and will write again as soon as there is something to report.”
Yep, that’s it. Literally 1.5 lines on Right to Manage.
Allow me to translate if I may:
”There is a hearing at the tribunal, regarding the freeholder’s objections to the RTM application, It will be in Jan/Feb 2025.
We can’t tell you why we delayed it that long and we can’t tell you what the freeholder’s objections were or the counter arguments.
We have no idea what the outcome will be. We refuse to show you the 2 year contract we signed with Urang (the proposed new agent) and we cannot say why.
We will not apologise for having insisted over a 2 year period that RTM was not possible. We will not resign as RTM company directors and we will not hold elections for RTM company directors. We will not remove the RTM company director who has been the subject of multiple police complaints and you can’t make us.
We will not hold an AGM for the RTM company despite demands from numerous members to do that.
We have in fact nothing at all to say to you, dear residents, but we thought we should do some sort of token update and Xmas wishes so here they are. We look forward to continuing to insult your intelligence and rule over you in a wholly unaccountable way in 2025”
I think that’s a reasonable translation into English. 🙂
Hope you all have a great Xmas.
This is a perfect translation Mike! Merry Christmas!

Thanks Lindsay. I do my best to help those who have limited ability or willingness to tell residents what is really happening at Chelsea Bridge Wharf. Hope you have a great break and all the best for 2025!
