Please Vote in CBWRA Chair elections! We need a new model of residents’ association – not a rebrand
If you have not done so yet, please vote in the CBWRA Chair elections. I have made Right to Manage and reform of the residents’ association my top manifesto priorities. You need only look at the broken way in which this election has been conducted and the continuing online bullying on the CBW app, particularly targeting non-leaseholders who are deemed not to be entitled to a view, the derecognition of CBWRA due to some very bad choices about data handling, the 140% increase in membership fees, the absence of meetings or consultation with residents to see, in my view, what a car crash CBWRA is in terms of governance and administration. Right to Manage has also been at the very least paused as the current chair and committee of CBWRA are supporting a retender process by Berkeley Homes which may well result in the re-appointment of Rendall and Rittner.
Have you heard either of the other candidates for Chair speak out against the online bullying (including the Chair’s repeated unfounded allegations against me?). Have you heard them speak out about anything that is wrong in the committee? Did you hear them condemn the unfairness of closing my CBW app account without any process or evidence? Did you hear them call it out when residents were told (wrongly) that Right to Manage was not possible at CBW? Did you hear them say that it was wrong for Garton-Jones estate agents to be sending survey links and endorsements on their behalf? What do you think the chances are that they will make meaningful change? If I am elected I will build a new model of residents’ association, one which is democratic, transparent and fair and I will force Right to Manage through at the earliest opportunity. Voting closes midnight 5th March. If you are a CBW leaseholder and have not received an email with the voting link and candidates’ manifestos please email info@cbwra.com
Thanks to all who have supported me – it has been great to have so many conversations about the future (and past) of CBW. Awareness of the real state of affairs inside CBWRA and the behaviour of its leadership is growing rapidly. Sadly CBWRA do not hold meetings with residents so we do not get enough opportunities to talk to each other through the formal structure of the residents’ association and the online platform they provide is seen by many as toxic and not conducive to meaningful conversation. Luckily we do not need CBWRA in order to talk to each other :). Please keep asking questions, keep fighting for a democratic and transparent residents’ association and Right to Manage.
