BBC story : Imprisoned by cladding: The flat owners who cannot sell
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/stories-51412328#
Thousands of people in the UK are living in flats they cannot sell, because the outside wall is covered in cladding. Sometimes it’s combustible, like the material that turned Grenfell Tower into an inferno. But people may become prisoners in their homes even when it isn’t – because the freeholder hasn’t paid for it to be tested.
In November 2019, Rendall and Rittner wrote to say Berkeley would undertake to replace and pay for all the cladding.

Do we know the status of our cladding at CBW and has this been verified? Thanks

I would not hold your breath on that. Rendall and Rittner are not planning to remove the cladding as far as I know – they are happy to carry on spending huge amounts of residents’ money on 24/7 fire patrols so that we get massive service charge increases every year (12% this year in Warwick Building). Rendall and Rittner are apalling – and not just at Chelsea Bridge Wharf https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.rendallandrittner.co.uk

Hi Stuart I don’t know the date of the next residents’ meeting but you could contact estatemanager@chelseabridgewharf.com – however you may have to wait some weeks for a reply. There are just 2 of these meetings a year and most of the time is taken up by Rendall and Rittner presenting slides telling us what a great job they are doing . So there are approximately 2 hours in total per year of residents being able to question R&R directly. I am not sure what the ‘status’ of the cladding is as Rendall and Rittner refuse to share information with residents who are not in the effected blocks.

Thanks .. I will contact Neil Turner directly then
It’s ridiculous!
I will also contact L&Q tomorrow
We should all just collectively withhold our service payment .. that will get a meeting PDQ !!
Thanks

Hi Stuart – I am not sure who Neil Turner is – but then they don’t tend to last long at Rendall and Rittner! They really are beyond hope and we need to have them replaced.

Hi
If you’ve got any questions or issues re CBW estate management/ randall and rittener then book an appointment at the surgery they are hosting on the 25th feb 5-7pm
Great chance to air grievances etc.
Residents should be aware of this
The cladding issue only affects some buildings and those residents have already been contacted

Yes I recommend residents to use that surgery – this seems to be a new development as they have not been offered before to my knowledge. Whether they will be any use remains to be seem – Rendall and Rittner’s approach to residents is generally appalling (denial, stonewalling, dishonesty, insulting our intelligence with meaningless corporate speak) and these are one to ones for 15 mins and not consultation with residents as whole. Will any of the issues raised at these surgeries be followed up in any way? I doubt it bit will be happy to be proved wrong.
”The cladding issue only affects some buildings and those residents have already been contacted;” that sounds like a line from Rendall and Rittner. It’s not true I’m afraid
These issues effect all residents in all blocks regardless of whether they have the cladding or not because the costs are knocking on to all of us in part and the reputation of the development is at stake, with implications for buying selling or renting, residents in the effected blocks have been ‘contacted’ but what does that mean? Have they been consulted? Have the issues been resolved to their satisfaction? No absolutely not …the cost of 24/7 fire wardens continues and the anxiety of living in an unsafe block..and the problems referred to in buying and selling.
